Settings

The Settings object stores user configuration information that persists across Guildhall shutdown and relaunch. About the only piece of Guildhall information it does not store is where to find the host file representing the user's home archive. As the Settings object is located on that same home archive, it wouldn't help much to keep it there.

The Settings object also manages the revive and restore process. When Guildhall is shut down, every open window, hidden or not, is recorded on the user's home archive in a list of objects to be revived. When Guildhall next launches that same home archive, even if on a different host system, the documents will be restored if possible. Holding the shift key down during Guildhall launch will block the revival of previously opened objects.
